Hi there,
After the dutch oven is heated up, the recipe says to put the dough in, put the lid on, and then bake for 30 minutes. Does this mean to put it back in the regular oven (still heated to 450) or leave it in the heated up dutch oven?

Thank you!!

Probably not Jan. The thinner metal may burn the exterior and won't hold the moisture in as well that's needed for a crispy crust. --Rachel

It's probably going to be a bit tight Debbi. The bread may rise up and mash against the top of the pot. It's not the end of the world if it does but it just won't be as pretty as you might have hoped for. --Rachel

I only have a small Dutch oven, unmarked, but I would guess no more than 3 quart. Will this work? If not, can I halve the recipe? Thanks!

I find it dries out after a day Jenna. I'd recommend freezing your loaves well wrapped then warming them just before serving in a warm oven. --Rachel
