If you add bbq sauce to the bbq sauce youre making then you arent making bbq sauce. Makes no sense really to do this.
Bbq sauce is just about the easiest thing to make with ingredients most people already have. Ketchup brown sugar Worcestershire, salt, pepper, garlic powder onion powder. Add things like apple cider vinegar, red pepper flakes, smoked paprika, a drop of liquid smoke or some good old shot of your favorite whiskey. (Give it all a quick boil though if using whiskey… or not) Throw whatever you think tastes good at it. Make it yours. Takes two minutes to make

I always use the stovetop method overnight to avoid heating up the house too much in warm t. Before simmering... I first sear the roast on all sides after cutting it in half to more easily fit in a big skillet. The searing process helps it to hold it's juices better after it's finished cooking.

Well I wrote this for stovetop so I'll stick with the original method. Oven would work just fine, but I make it more often on the stove so I feel more familiar with that. --Rachel

A neat trick i learned: freeze leftover pulled pork in muffin tins, and then release into freezer bags like giant meat ice cubes. That way you can pull single sandwich sized portions as needed.
