Hey Jerry, sorry yours didn&#039;t turn out to suit ya. As you can tell by the picture of mine, the petals were literally falling out they were so soft. As I always suggest, if something isn&#039;t done, then feel free to cook it longer. Oven temperatures can vary up to 50 degrees hotter or cooler and the only way to know what temp your oven actually cooks at is to put a separate thermometer in your oven and check. These baked blooming onions don&#039;t get a lot of color because the whole thing gets steamed right from the get-go in the foil and where there&#039;s moisture there won&#039;t be a lot of browning--which I noted in the commentary on the recipe.
