In reply to <a href="https://feastandfarm.com/7-fabulous-christmas-presents-foodies/comment-page-1/#comment-111835">Raine</a>.

Hi Raine! Welcome! I haven't used the entire Kitchen Aid line so it is hard for me to comment on the Pro series but I do have a standard Kitchen Aid mixer as well and can honestly say that Bosch just kicks their fanny every time. I have used my smaller Bosch for all kinds of things and it just powers through. Dough, frostings, you name it. I think Bosch is far superior to Kitchen Aid and would certainly choose it if given the choice. --Rachel

Hello! I recently happened upon your blog and YouTube channel in my quest for a loaf of bread. LOL I've been tinkering with sourdough for 6 months, and I've thrown away more dough and loaves than I care to admit. So, back to commercial yeast for the win and your beginner friendly loaf (made from the yeast roll recipe). Can't wait to explore more of your recipes. I noticed this blog post and decided to look through it. I've been considering a Bosch and thought there was only one mixer--the Universal Plus. I definitely don't need all of the potential accessories (blender, slicer, etc). Today, I discovered there's another option. The Artiste! Who knew? (Clearly, you did.lol) Is the Artiste to the Universal Plus as the KA Artisan is to the KA Pro series? The Artiste appears to be the perfect size; however, the smaller motor gives me some concerns in terms of thicker doughs (whole wheat and sourdough challah--the only sourdough I've had any success with). I have a KA Artisan, and it really struggles with thicker doughs, so I don't want to find myself in a similar situation. Do you happen to have any insights? Do you yourself use the Artiste with no trouble? I also plan on going full-time in my RV in a few years, so the smaller, lighter option is doubly appealing. Thank you for any insights (and for excellent bread recipes)!
